They are one of the Big Four of thrash. I’ve been a fan since 1988, when I heard their Among the Living album which was released a year before.
Their next album, State of Euphoria, and the 1990 release Persistence of Time are still my favorites from this band.
I was always fascinated that they made songs based on Stephen King books and even introduced me to Judge Dredd, an awesome comic character. I even started collecting Dredd comics back then — though only a few selected bookstores carried them back then, and they weren’t cheap.
Even with all the lineup changes, Anthrax has never drifted far from their original formula: solid, in-your-face thrash metal. Which I love!
