NECROTICISM – DESCANTING THE INSALUBRIOUS (EARACHE RECORDS, 1991)
Incarnated Solvent Abuse is the fifth song from Necroticism album.
It is by far the best album Carcass ever released… and it’s also the first one I heard from them. Been hooked ever since! Every track on this record is 110% perfection. Although my personal favorite is the second track, Corporal Jigsore Quandary, I wanted to do a sketch based on Incarnated instead.
At least on their early releases, Carcass used rather complex titles for their songs — this one being no exception. Well, that’s one way to stand out from the crowd. A lot of their lyrics and song titles were filled with medical terminology, and that, combined with their trademark dark humor, really made them unique. So this song — if I’ve interpreted the lyrics correctly — is obviously about making glue the old-fashioned way. But not from animals… from human remains.
