HORRORSCOPE (MEGAFORCE, 1991)
Nice Day for a Funeral is a song by Overkill, taken from their fifth studio album, Horrorscope — which I still consider to be their best album, with The Years of Decay coming very close.
The main thing that makes Horrorscope stand out compared to The Years of Decay is the production. It’s even stronger than on the previous album. The songwriting and performances are just as solid on both records, no question about that. Maybe the fact that this is their first album with two guitar players has something to do with the sound.
But yeah — listen to the title track and you’ll get my point. Nice Day for a Funeral has a great, catchy title, and the song itself absolutely delivers as well.
