The Prodigy

The Prodigy are one of the most successful electronic groups of all time, having sold a massive amount of records.

They’ve been around since the early nineties, if I’m not completely mistaken. The first time I heard them, I actually found their music really irritating — but this must have been around 1992–1993, when everything that wasn’t death metal irritated me.

But in 1995, when my crew mate Dams and I “toured” around Finland spray-painting various spots, we ended up listening to their albums a lot. Dams loved their music and pretty much force-fed it to me during the countless hours and kilometres we drove around the southern parts of Finland. And the music just stuck. I’ve been listening to them ever since.

Their early albums — especially their 1992 release Experience — instantly take me back to those warm, spray-fume-filled summer nights. About the first sketch: Serial Thrilla comes from The Prodigy’s 1997 album, The Fat of the Land.
