Special Feature Vol. 3

Behemoth

Behemoth is a blackened death metal band from Poland — and one of my all-time favorites. Their 2014 release The Satanist is not only their best work, but
it’s also one of the few albums I consider among the greatest metal albums ever.

I was most likely introduced to them by my friend Lord K from The Project Hate, who knew my taste
well and was confident I’d appreciate Behemoth.
This must have been in late 2002, since the first album I heard was Zos Kia Cultus, which had just come out. I wasn’t fully sold at first, or at least not
as strongly as later — but this changed the following year when I saw them live. Everything clicked, and
I’ve been a fan ever since.

During all these years Behemoth has released one killer album after another, along with a series of absolutely fantastic videos. And yes, I’ve written a
few Behemoth quotes next to my paintings over the years, and even painted their name in 2015.

ABOUT | Special Features

These are collections of artwork based on one selected band, all gathered into a single file, a book, per artist, without descriptions for individual pieces. Some — or even all — of the artworks presented in these features have previously been shown here, accompanied by descriptive texts and additional photos (usually of graffiti based on the sketches).

For a few bands that mean more to me than most, I’ve naturally created more artwork, so it felt like a good idea to give those bands a bit more exposure than the majority of the content you see here.

If you’re new to the concept: these are graffiti-style sketches I’ve drawn, based on selected songs, shown here in the same order they appear on each album.
