Deathstars is a Swedish pop/goth-ish metal band from Sweden. And the description says it all: this band really knows how to write catchy tunes.
They’ve been around for a decent amount of time, and sure, I’ve bumped into their name every now and then — but I never felt the need to actually give them much attention. That changed in 2024, back when I still used Spotify. The algorithm, which in my case usually delivered more misses than hits, nailed it this time. So, out of boredom maybe, I decided to click their name and give the album Everything Destroys You a chance. And yes, it was good — so good that I’m still listening to this band on a regular basis.
Since there’s no Spotify for yours truly anymore, I’ve had to get their releases the old-fashioned way: buying, not downloading. I’m talking old-school, as in the way we did it in the eighties and nineties.
So yeah, the sketch here was most likely drawn during those first listening sessions with this band.
